New Rambo 4 Movie Viewing Party!

Posted by moviebl

Jim - a filmmaker buddy of mine and main mogul of Twitchy Dolphin Flix - sent me an invite to a huge viewing party for the new Rambo 4 movie and I’m totally stoked about it. It’s happening on the 25th at the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin. The Alamo Drafthouse is a great place to see a movie because they serve burgers and beer. Every movie theater should do this!

In celebration, here’s the Rambo trailer:

All Work And No Play Makes Clif A Dull Boy!

Posted by moviebl

Hey gang, sorry for the lack of killer sweet posts lately but I’ve been busy as hell with the non-movie world. I’ll be throwing some fresh stuff up pretty soon so don’t be a stranger. I should have the the On Location: Office Space ready by late this week…maybe the weekend.

In the mean time, check out this great reenactment from a famous The Breakfast Club scene:

26 Beloved Movie Characters And Who ALMOST Played Them

Posted by moviebl

When it comes to our favorite movie characters we can’t imagine any other actors having portrayed them. Take for example, Indiana Jones. Can you imagine if Danny Devito had been given that role? Crap, me either. Here’s a list of 26 beloved main characters and the actors that almost played them. Why 26? Because I was shooting for 25 and went 1 over…sue me!

A Tribute to the Wilhelm Scream

Posted by Clif

What is the Wilhelm Scream? According to Wikipedia, it is this:

“…a stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the film Distant Drums. Actor-singer Sheb Wooley is considered to be the most likely voice actor for the scream, having appeared on a memo as a voice extra for the film.

The Wilhelm scream has been featured in many films and television programs since. Alongside a certain recording of the cry of the Red-tailed Hawk, the “Universal telephone ring”, the Goofy holler, the Tarzan yell and “Castle thunder”, it is probably one of the best-known cinematic sound clichés. There is even a New Bedford, MA rock/punk band named A Wilhelm Scream.”

That being said, here’s a tribute to the Wilhelm Scream. See how fast you can pick it out:

Holy Crap I Got A Lightsaber For Christmas!

Posted by moviebl

My brother, who excels at being awesome, got me a Master Replicas lightsaber for Christmas. The one that lights up like a real lightsaber and makes all the cool sounds. I got him a $20 remote control helicopter from Wal-Mart made out of Styrofoam that spins out of control and crashes if you look at it funny. Sorry dude.

An added bonus about this lightsaber is that it scares the hell out of my dog. I guess it reminds her of lightening, which she is also terrified of. Or maybe she’s shell shocked from the Clone Wars, although I don’t think she was involved with that whole mess. Here I am showing it off:
